Have you heard about the outbreak? All this week and through until Tuesday of next week, be sure to follow the#SSaDOutbreak hashtag on twitter. Various authors are blogging about the novel and giving away amazing prizes!
First things first! The lucky winner of the July 26th post (on Leigh Bardugo’s blog) is… Juli @ The Reviews News! Congrats! You’ll be taking home a SS&D themed parasol and a query critique from amazing agent Joanna Volpe! Email us at SSADOutbreak@gmail.com to claim your prize!
Now, onto really important things. Each stop on the tour is focusing on a different, fabulous aspect of Something Strange and Deadly. I don’t know what it says that I got voted in to cover the hot boys love interest angle, but I’m willing to rise to the challenge! You can read my review of the whole book here.
I actually met Sooz because I read Something Strange and Deadly. I’d signed up to interview her for the Lucky 13s blog (you’ll see the results this Saturday!), and I very shyly approached her to ask about the remote possibility of reading an advance copy. A day later I had one, and shortly after that I was shy no more–I was pouring my love into her inbox. A beautiful friendship followed, but I want to be clear: I’m not raving about this book because I happen to love the author. My book love is pure as the driven snow.
Unless I’m thinking about Daniel, that is. Daniel Sheridan, Sure Hands Danny, impatient with stupidity of any sort (or even a mild inability to keep up), handsome, intelligent, wildly inventive. That’s him on the left there, with artwork by the talented Natalia Pierandrei.
Daniel’s the inventor amongst the Spirit Hunters, and with a quick mind and a shady past (you don’t get a nickname like that for nothing), he’s irresistible. To me, anyway. At some points he’s lucky Eleanor doesn’t kill him with her parasol.
Though I’m in raptures here about Daniel, I truly believe that one of the best things about Something Strange and Deadly is the restraint Sooz exercises–this book isn’t a hot and heavy romance with no particular reason the characters fall for each other. Eleanor’s far more practical than I am, and keeps her head in the game when it matters!
I’d love to tell you more, but… well, you’ll have to read the book! And I really, really recommend you do.
Now, have you been waiting to hear about the prize? It’s awesome. Today we’re giving away two very highly sought after ARCs: Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry.

This is not one many people agree with but I am way into Fred Weasley from harry Potter! He is so funny. I always fall for the funny ones! I love what you ladies are doing to celebrate SSAD with Susan Dennard. Such a cool way to release a book!
I find Vidanric from Sherwood Smith’s Crown Duel very swoonworthy. Thank you for the awesome giveaway!
Kaidan Rowe from Sweet Evil <3
Jace from city of bones
I have so many literary crushes it’s insane but I’m going to have to go with St. Clair from Anna & the French Kiss.
Four from Divergent
He’s amazing.
I FB and Tweeted. I didn’t sign up for the give-a-way. Running out of time. The book sounds good and I will check it out …probably buy. Book junkie here.
Best of luck,
Shelly
OMG, Jamie from Outlander. I’d be jelly with the voice alone. Or maybe Roarke from the In Death series by JD Robb. I’m shivering.
Mal from A shadow of Bones!
I think Jace from Mortal Instruments was my first literary love, so I’ll always have a soft spot for him. Thanks for the chance to win!
I had the biggest crush on Cole from Maggie Stiefvater’s Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Can’t wait to read about Daniel though! Thanks again for doing all of these awesome giveaways!
Alaska Young from “Looking for Alaska”
All my crushes are from romance books, haha.
Curran from the Kate Daniels series
Showing my age here — Richard Collier from Bid Time Return. Still one of my favorites.
I would say Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle. He’s funny and completely idiotic but charming somehow
I have so many! But I have to say, my current crush is Harlin from A need so beautiful!
Ahhh…the giveaway sounds amazing~
Oops, forgot to mention literary crush…XD
Ash from the Iron Fey series <3 <3 <3
Ahh… Irial from Wicked Lovely and, more recently, the Darkling from Shadow and Bone. I like those morally gray-dark dudes (waaay dark in the case of the latter, buuut).
I am seriously swooning for Kaidan Rowe from Sweet Evil. What better bad boy than the son of the Demon of Lust. Everything he did was swoon worthy and I can so hear that accent. Bonus for being British and to top of the cake he is a drummer.
Okay, I’m definitely showing my age here, but… probably my original crush would be Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights!!! Fabulous. Even if he’s a bit of a jerk sometimes. For a more recent crush, it’s definitely Four from Divergent. Wowza.
Daemon Black from the Lux series… He’s kind of a jerk sometimes but oh man!
Hmm. The literacy guys I’m swooning over are Marcello from the River of Time books and Tobias from the Divergent trilogy!
Looking forward to reading both of these books! Hopefully, I’ll get to read them before they’re even out!
Jane Austen’s Captain Wentworth! I swoon every time I read the “you pierce my soul” part.
Reading SS&D right now, and LOVING it.
Gen, from THE THIEF by Megan Whalen Turner.
Cedar from Flash Gold
Must get Something Strange and Deadly soon!
Eugenides from the Queen’s Thief series is definitely swoon worthy.
I love Dimitri from the Vampire Academy series. Want!
Dimitri Belikov
Jeaniene Frost’s Bones.
Ron Weasley. Weasley is Our King!! Also, Alex from Delirium. And (since I’m reading it now), Mal from Shadow and Bone. It’s so difficult to choose just one.
