Something Strange and Deadly: GIVEAWAY!

Have you heard about the outbreak? All this week and through until Tuesday of next week, be sure to follow the#SSaDOutbreak hashtag on twitter. Various authors are blogging about the novel and giving away amazing prizes!

First things first! The lucky winner of the July 26th post (on Leigh Bardugo’s blog) is… Juli @ The Reviews News! Congrats! You’ll be taking home a SS&D themed parasol and a query critique from amazing agent Joanna Volpe! Email us at SSADOutbreak@gmail.com to claim your prize!

Now, onto really important things. Each stop on the tour is focusing on a different, fabulous aspect of Something Strange and Deadly. I don’t know what it says that I got voted in to cover the hot boys love interest angle, but I’m willing to rise to the challenge! You can read my review of the whole book here.

I actually met Sooz because I read Something Strange and Deadly. I’d signed up to interview her for the Lucky 13s blog (you’ll see the results this Saturday!), and I very shyly approached her to ask about the remote possibility of reading an advance copy. A day later I had one, and shortly after that I was shy no more–I was pouring my love into her inbox. A beautiful friendship followed, but I want to be clear: I’m not raving about this book because I happen to love the author. My book love is pure as the driven snow.

Unless I’m thinking about Daniel, that is. Daniel Sheridan, Sure Hands Danny, impatient with stupidity of any sort (or even a mild inability to keep up), handsome, intelligent, wildly inventive. That’s him on the left there, with artwork by the talented Natalia Pierandrei.

Daniel’s the inventor amongst the Spirit Hunters, and with a quick mind and a shady past (you don’t get a nickname like that for nothing), he’s irresistible. To me, anyway. At some points he’s lucky Eleanor doesn’t kill him with her parasol.

Though I’m in raptures here about Daniel, I truly believe that one of the best things about Something Strange and Deadly is the restraint Sooz exercises–this book isn’t a hot and heavy romance with no particular reason the characters fall for each other. Eleanor’s far more practical than I am, and keeps her head in the game when it matters!

I’d love to tell you more, but… well, you’ll have to read the book! And I really, really recommend you do.

Now, have you been waiting to hear about the prize? It’s awesome. Today we’re giving away two very highly sought after ARCs: Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry.

So how do you enter? Easy! Use the Rafflecopter form below, but remember entries close at midnight, so don’t delay! This giveaway is US only, but the grand prize (below) is international!

I am seriously swooning for Kaidan Rowe from Sweet Evil. What better bad boy than the son of the Demon of Lust. Everything he did was swoon worthy and I can so hear that accent. Bonus for being British and to top of the cake he is a drummer.

  21. HollyB says:

Okay, I’m definitely showing my age here, but… probably my original crush would be Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights!!! Fabulous. Even if he’s a bit of a jerk sometimes. For a more recent crush, it’s definitely Four from Divergent. Wowza.

  22. Kelly says:

Daemon Black from the Lux series… He’s kind of a jerk sometimes but oh man!

  23. Kristie says:

Hmm. The literacy guys I’m swooning over are Marcello from the River of Time books and Tobias from the Divergent trilogy!

  25. Tara A says:

Jane Austen’s Captain Wentworth! I swoon every time I read the “you pierce my soul” part.

Gen, from THE THIEF by Megan Whalen Turner. :)

    Cedar from Flash Gold

Eugenides from the Queen’s Thief series is definitely swoon worthy.

    Dimitri Belikov
