Internet, it’s not often I’m caught short for words, but I don’t know what to say. My agents, Josh and Tracey Adams of Adams Literary, got me something for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and now I can tell you what it was. Here it is, fresh in from Publisher’s Marketplace (click for a larger version):
Selling one book is a dream come true. Selling three? To an editor as smart and talented as Abby? To Disney-Hyperion, the folks who publish some of my all time favourite books? And I get to write this trilogy with someone as wildly talented as Meagan Spooner?
I truly don’t know what to say.
Thank you, Josh, Tracey and Quinlan for working so hard to find the perfect home for our story. Thank you Abby, and everyone at Disney, for being that home–Meg and I know already we’re going to love it. Thank you to my family for being so patient and enthusiastic. Thank you to the friends who read, cheerlead and keep me sane. Thank you to my husband, who is truly the best support I could ever ask for. And thank you Meg, for being an exceptional collaborator and taking my writing to a new level. (Make sure you click over to her blog and congratulate her! The girl has six books coming out in four years!) I keep thinking someone’s going to find out how much fun we’re having, and stop us!
We can’t wait to get to work with Abby, and we can’t wait to share WRECKED with all of you.
